Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Canada Games Council (CGC), with the endorsement of the 2022 Canada Games Host Society and the 2023 Canada Games Host Society, will implement a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all accredited individuals at the 2022 Canada Summer Games in Niagara Region and the 2023 Canada Winter Games on Prince Edward Island.

As we continue to learn and focus on Black history on the heels of Black History Month, continuing our education all throughout the year, it is especially important for me to reflect on the significance of diversity in leadership from my own personal position within the Canada Games movement.

CHARLOTTETOWN, PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND – Four speed skating athletes – short trackers Courtney Charlong (NB) and Akutaq Williamson-Bathory (NU), as well as long trackers Sofia Bieber (MB) and Luca Veeman (SK) – had the privilege of carrying their respective provincial or territorial flag into the Opening Ceremony of the 2023 Canada Winter Games on Saturday night.
