The Canada Games Council (CGC) is thrilled to announce that longtime partner Sage Canada has renewed its commitment to the Canada Games Movement through 2030, as a National Supplier of the Canada Games in 2025, 2027 and 2029.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Canada Games Council (CGC), with the endorsement of the 2022 Canada Games Host Society and the 2023 Canada Games Host Society, will implement a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all accredited individuals at the 2022 Canada Summer Games in Niagara Region and the 2023 Canada Winter Games on Prince Edward Island.

As we continue to learn and focus on Black history on the heels of Black History Month, continuing our education all throughout the year, it is especially important for me to reflect on the significance of diversity in leadership from my own personal position within the Canada Games movement.

With inclusion being a core value at Canada Games, we recognize the importance of creating an environment that welcomes and accepts everyone who attends. We are thankful to alumni like David Thibodeau, who competed in Swimming for Team New Brunswick in the 2013 Canada Games, for leading these conversations with us and helping us find new ways to live our values.

CHARLOTTETOWN, PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND – Four speed skating athletes – short trackers Courtney Charlong (NB) and Akutaq Williamson-Bathory (NU), as well as long trackers Sofia Bieber (MB) and Luca Veeman (SK) – had the privilege of carrying their respective provincial or territorial flag into the Opening Ceremony of the 2023 Canada Winter Games on Saturday night.
